The four stops sit within an hour of each other along the Neretva, so nearly every operator drives the same road. What changes is the swimming time at Kravice, whether entry fees are in the price, and how long you get in Mostar before the coaches leave.
Short drive, long swim
Twenty minutes to the tekke at Blagaj, forty more to the stone stairs at Počitelj, and the rest of the afternoon on the shelf above the Kravice falls.
Over the pass, down the river
The road runs past the Jablanica reservoir into Konjic, then follows the gorge to Mostar. Long day, and the only one that takes in both halves of the country.

Mostar is small, and still worth a night.
The bridge empties once the last coach leaves for the coast. Stay on, and you get the Kujundžiluk lanes without a queue, the Neretva going dark green under the arch, and a dinner table by the water.

Twenty-six years of secret work under a hillside above the Neretva, finished in 1979 and left off every map until the 1990s. The corridors, offices and bedrooms are still furnished, six thousand square metres of them, an hour south of Sarajevo on the Mostar road.

Trebević: cable car and bobsled
The cable car lifts out of the old town in under ten minutes to the ridge above Sarajevo. At the top, the concrete bobsled track from the 1984 Winter Olympics curls down through the pines, graffitied end to end, and you walk it.

Lukomir, the highest village

Plenty of Bosnia’s best days start in Croatia.
